Caravela is the place to be if you want to go on a Goan culinary adventure. It is your one-stop to all the Goan delicacies like the Goan potato chops, the prawn rissois, some choris bread and when you have some time do try their pasta and do not leave the place without trying the famous sorpatel, vindaloo or the feijoado, a famous Portuguese dish that is made with kidney beans and chorizo. Finish your meal with something sweet like the orange bunt or their famous blueberry cheesecake or gooey chocolate brownie. The Serradurra is also a must-try at the cafe. 

You are sure to be greeted by Mr. Carlos, the owner of the cafe, or one of his two sons Carlos Jr. or Cyrus. Always with a smile on his face and ever ready with tales of the old Latin Quater and the Goan heritage.

Caravela Cafe and Bistro has launched its own coffee brand in Goa called the “Latin Quater”. This is the first time that a cafe in the state has launched its own coffee brand. Mr. Carlos being a coffee connoisseur himself has made it his mission to get more people involved and educated on the process and art of roasting beans that make the perfect cup of coffee. With a state of the art roaster installed in the cafe, frequent roasting sessions allow customers to join in on the experience.

The beans roasted are currently ground in and sold in the cafe but the owners will soon make it available for sale at supermarkets. The green beans are single estate beans that are sourced from Coorg in Karnataka. 

“Latin Quarter” is priced at Rs 400 for a 250 gram pack for retail consumers, is a Single Estate Arabica. The cafe has perfected the perfect blend of a dark roast that is sure to hit the right spot for every coffee lover.
